DAP Hiew's collusion with Sabah Umno

By Datuk Yong Teck Lee
Kota Kinabalu, Tuesday, 11 October 2011 - The guarantee that no Chief Minister can sign away huge tracts of lands, forests and mines to private interests have been put in place on 17 June 1996 when the Sabah Legislative Assembly transferred the Chief Minister's powers to the Cabinet by amending the Sabah Land Ordinance, the Forest Enactment and the Mining Ordinance.

I was the Chief Minister to move the motion to amend the laws which was passed by the Legislative Assembly.

Sabah's jobless shocking

By Dullie Haji Marie

Almost 30,000 who turned out to apply for jobs is a record of joblessness in Sabah.
Yet the Sabah BN Youth seemed to be so proud of the turnout. Are they treating this as a BN supporters' gathering?
The huge turnout only shows how desperate for jobs are our youth, school leavers and graduates.

"Pak Turut" of Umno

It is apparent that Datuk Johnny Mositun has either not comprehend Datuk Yong Teck Lee's recent statement or chose to be ignorant of the facts presented.

It is the common belief in Sabah that PBS leaders as well as the other leaders in BN component parties may be in office, but not in power. The vehement denial by Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan as PBS President and Deputy Chief Minister that he is simply a "Pak Turut" to UMNO leadership shows his concern and fear that this sad truth be known to Sabahans. The PBS Youth police report against the Atama sketch, which incidentally was definitely a viewpoint shared by many Sabahans, reinforces this line of thought.

Sabah Govt flip-flops over Tower

The state government only understood the consequences of its decision to approve a 16-storey commercial complex bordering the iconic Atkinson Clock Tower after it was pointed out that it may be against the law.

The plan hit a raw nerve in the city with many questioning the need for yet another mall and shopping complex within the city limits, while many such structures approved by the government lie half empty and under-utilised.

The outcry has shaken Chief Minister Musa Aman's administration to the core and forced both him and his Cabinet ministers to issue statements assuring that they would review the development plan put forward by the SHTDA.

Knight in Sham Armour

In the Cardiff Law School, Sir Datuk Yee Moh Chai created his profile proudly as follows:"

Question to SIR Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai : "Have you received any awards, appointments or had any publications?"

Sir Yee's Answer: "I was awarded 'Young Malaysian of the Year' in 1994 and a Datukship (PGDK) in 2004 from the State Government of Sabah, carrying the title of 'Datuk' (the equivalent of a knighthood)"

Yee now, should be addressed as Sir Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, correct me if I'm wrong.

Leaders of low integrity

"Raymond Tan had even failed to honour his words when he (Tan) announced during his last meeting with SAPP Supreme Council last year that, he would resign as both the Deputy Chief Minister and Infrastructure Development Minister within 24 hours if SAPP pulls out of the BN coalition..." What say you? $$$$$$more...

Gerakan joins Sabah Cabinet thru backdoor

Raymond and Au joins Gerakan, a Peninsular-based BN component party...

"Not only the BN leaders in Sabah including all component parties have no such power but they also depends on Federal leaders especially the Prime Minister to solve such issue, which is vital to the State.

Permatang Pauh & Kuala Terengganu both cmpleted, ......Pensiangan next?

As Manchester United fans awaited eagerly for the live telecast of their match against Bolton which will see whether their favourite team top the Premier League table on saturday evening, supporters of BN and the opposition brace themselves for the result of the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election results.

Final score, Pas won by a majority of 2,631 against BN-UMNO and an independent. Its was the second time that BN has suffered a setback since the March 8, 2008 general elections.

The first setback was when BN-UMNO lost to PKR in the Permatang Pauh seat. Now the appeal court decision on the Pensiangan election petition will determine whether BN will face a third by-election in as many months.

Should there be one, it would be a first time a BN component pary instead of UMNO being put to the test. So should it be BN-PBRS vs a national party and a local party?

Topinai! Sabar ya! Help is coming...tapi bila?

In the Daily Express, the Sabah Chief Minster had vows that there will be immediate aid for flood nd other disaster victims in the state. This in response to the current serious flood problems faced due tot he rainy season.

On 14 January 2009, Federal Science, Technology and Innovations Minister Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili had said, it is typical of the opposition to issue statements blindly. He also said they also seemed to lack the capacity to ask intelligent questions.

This was the reply given by Dr. Max to the Sapp youth leader question for the source of funding for the
three suspension bridges in Kota Marudu namely Simpangan, Kg Lampada and Kg Timbang Batu which would be built to replace bridges washed away by major floods back in February last year.

Dr. Max had confirmed that the fund are from the
National Security Council (NSC). It leads one to wonder if for a Federal Minister constituency approval for funding are only received one year later, what will become of the vows by the Chief Minister?

So folks, hang in there, help is on the way...........but when?

If its safe for Sandakan then it should be safe for Lahad Datu, why move the coal power plant then?

It was reported in the local news The New Sabah Times that Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) is going ahead with its plan to move the cancelled coal-fired power plant project in Silam, Lahad Datu to a new site in Sandakan.

Except for a group of Sandakan concerned people who have started to voice out against the coal power plant for Sandakan, none of the elected representatives of the people of Sandakan had make known their stand on this matter.

If they are adamant in settling it in Sandakan (quoting many of their quality and strigent standard controls) then they should just let it stay in Lahad Datu. Unless there is another real reason for moving was not the environment of Lahad Datu. Your guess is as good as mine.

After 45 Years Independence Still The Same For Rural Folks!

It was reported in a local daily that a free movie screening by the Information Ministry attracted more than 5,000 people from Nabawan and Sook to the tamu grounds here on Saturday.

It was reminiscent of the 60s and 70s when rural folks were often treated to a free film that they used to refer to as “wayang piri” (wayang free).

Enough is enough.
After 45 years of independence. in this era of the Petronas Twin Tower and other mega developments including all the "Corridors" developments, most of Sabah rural area are still undeveloped by the Federal Government while the State government had to shoulder the full burden.

Pensiangan also could enter into the Malaysia Book Of Record for having witnessed a number of visits by Federal Ministers within a month compared to 45 years of history.

This is the prelude to the expected by-election for Pensiangan? More goodies coming their way?

THE CONDUCT OF BN MPs!!

It was reported in The New Straits Times, on Wednesday (27 November 2008), Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) hurled a racial slur at M. Kulasegaran (DAP-Ipoh Barat) and called Azmin Ali (PKR-Gombak) biol (stupid) during the debate on a motion seeking to dock Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein's salary by RM10 for failing to fulfil his promises on vernacular school.

We have witnessed numerous antics and "ungentlemenly" conduct of the BN MPs in parliament sittings. Remember the last Parliament session where BN lawmakers created uproar with their statement of "monthly leak".

The ironic is that opposition MPs get punished with suspension and banishment for the slightest "tiff" with the presiding speakers but BN MPs just has to "tarik balik" even that is done relunctantly.

So you know what to do in the next election yah, vote for SAPP !

WILL WE SEE ANOTHER FLIP FLOP HERE IN MABUL?

Do you remember the decision by the State Government to scrap the building of a coal fired plant in Lahad Datu on the basis of environment on 4 May 2008. Then in a news on 21 November 2008, Datuk Zakaria Idris (BN - Gum Gum) said that blackouts due to insufficient power supply were common and threatened economic development in the east coast. Sabah has no choice but to accept a 300mW coal-fired plant in Sandakan to ensure sufficient power supply in the state’s east coast, an assemblyman told the State Assembly. Have you ever wonder if what is not right for Lahad Datu can be right for Sandakan? So much for the flip-flop disease of our nation leadership. Is it as contagious? Before that is sorted out, we now have a new environmental issues on Mabul island. A proposed 33 hectare oceanarium resort will be build in Mabul Island, located in the East Coast of Sabah.
State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun had said that it will not destroy the coral reefs. Rather, it would help ease pressure from the diving crowd coming from neighbouring Sipadan island.

The question now is should we have development at the expense of environment? How much can Sabah benefit from the tourist who would "flock" to the oceanarium? Is it jus another "project" for the rakyat? I leave it for your the rakyat to call the shots, remember the next general elections, even a vote make the difference...........its in your hand now.

PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY FOR SABAH!!?!!?

On 8 November 2008, it was reported that Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Bernard Dompok had said that the Federal Government in their cabinet meeting agreed that a full-fledged petrochemical industry would be set up in the state using natural gas obtained from Sabah.

Subsequently, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman hailed the decision of the Federal Government to set up a petrochemical industry in the State, saying it augurs well for the Sabah Development Corridor plan.

This has prompted Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Husin to jump on the bandwagon saying it is a privilege the people in Sabah should enjoy given its natural resources.

The interesting thing is that only excess gas will be piped to Bintulu.

Aid For Hardcore Poor Not A Privilege

In Bernama report dated 30 October 2008, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said various aid extended to heads of hardcore poor households via the Peoples Welfare Development Scheme (SPKR) should not be viewed as a privilege.

He said the recipients should instead work hard and not only depend on state assistance all the time."We need to change attitude and not depend too much on the government for help,"

Pairin said in his speech when officiating the Additional Balanced Food Programme (PTMS) organised by the Tambunan branch of the Community Development Department (Kemas) at the Pisompuruan Square.

Is it not the government responsibility to look after the hardcore poor? Are not more programs and incentives be extend to help alleviate the living conditions of the hardcore poor?
