If its safe for Sandakan then it should be safe for Lahad Datu, why move the coal power plant then?

It was reported in the local news The New Sabah Times that Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) is going ahead with its plan to move the cancelled coal-fired power plant project in Silam, Lahad Datu to a new site in Sandakan.

Except for a group of Sandakan concerned people who have started to voice out against the coal power plant for Sandakan, none of the elected representatives of the people of Sandakan had make known their stand on this matter.

If they are adamant in settling it in Sandakan (quoting many of their quality and strigent standard controls) then they should just let it stay in Lahad Datu. Unless there is another real reason for moving was not the environment of Lahad Datu. Your guess is as good as mine.
