After 45 Years Independence Still The Same For Rural Folks!

It was reported in a local daily that a free movie screening by the Information Ministry attracted more than 5,000 people from Nabawan and Sook to the tamu grounds here on Saturday.

It was reminiscent of the 60s and 70s when rural folks were often treated to a free film that they used to refer to as “wayang piri” (wayang free).

Enough is enough.
After 45 years of independence. in this era of the Petronas Twin Tower and other mega developments including all the "Corridors" developments, most of Sabah rural area are still undeveloped by the Federal Government while the State government had to shoulder the full burden.

Pensiangan also could enter into the Malaysia Book Of Record for having witnessed a number of visits by Federal Ministers within a month compared to 45 years of history.

This is the prelude to the expected by-election for Pensiangan? More goodies coming their way?

Api Api election petition dismissed?

KOTA KINABALU: The Election Court here on Monday dismissed with costs, a petition challenging the election of BN’s Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai as the Api Api state assemblyman in the March 8 general election.

Dr Yee, the Parti Bersatu Sabah deputy president and state Resource Development Minister, "won" the seat with 174-vote majority against Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s Christina Liew.

The petition was filed by Api Api voter Audrey Karen Barry, who claimed that there were elements of corrupt practice or general intimidation by Dr Yee or his agents, including printing and distributing pamphlets containing false and inflammatory statements.

"Ridiculous judgement, they were caught with their pants down...caught in the red...A case of unjustified justice"

'BN's self-destruct button now on'

How much longer can the ruling government be oblivious towards the current trend? To me, it seems that they were born oblivious.

Why are the ACA, the police and the government suddenly 'acting' super efficient and arresting opposition members and creating this false sense of integrity?

Have they forgotten that similar tactics used in GE12 failed them miserably?

By doing what they are doing, they are earning hatred from the public. People vote for the opposition not for because they like or have faith in the opposition, but because they simply hate the ruling government and want to show their discontent.

How difficult is it for the 'geniuses' to figure this out? Going by this case, I understand why we are where we are now. (Quoted from Paran Chinniah: Voxpop)

Dr M on the 2008 General Elections

"I am amazed that there are still people in this country who think that the opposition parties "won" the general elections because they promised a more open society with transparency and whatnots, including of course doing away with the Internal Security Act"

"Whom do they blame? They blame UMNO and its leaders and the kowtow-ing leaders of MCA, Gerakan, MIC. In particular they blame the Prime Minister, Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi"

"Why did they blame Abdullah? Their reasoning was simple. Under previous Prime Ministers they were very much better off; the prices of goods did not go up too high, their incomes had increased, the officials were more attentive and so were their wakils etc etc."

"And so the BN lost. But the opposition did not win..." So What Do We Think? more...
