UBF can use SAPP as vehicle to contest

TAWAU: The United Borneo Front (UBF) is welcome to use Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) as a vehicle to contest in the 13th general election as both parties share the same struggle.

SAPP vice president Datuk Chua Soon Bui said UBF is a non-governmental organisation and both parties already had a lot of dialogues and organised seminars on whether they are sharing the same mission and vision for the whole of Sabah, including the autonomy of Sabah.

"And we found out that we are very close along that mission and vision," she said yesterday.

SAPP welcomes Anwar on "PR-SAPP can negotiate"

By Datuk Yong Teck Lee
Kota Kinabalu, Monday, 5 September 2011, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) welcomes Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim's land mark statement that Pakatan can negotiate with SAPP and SAPP need not join the Pakatan Rakyat in achieving a one to one fight against the BN.

As de facto leader of PKR and PR, Anwar has re-set the button on the relationship between SAPP and Pakatan to the same positive footing that SAPP had with Pakatan in 2008.

Sabahan capable to lead opposition parties

KOTA KINABALU: There is no need for PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to lead the Sabah opposition parties in the fight against Barisan Nasional in the coming general election, as Sabahans are capable of doing it themselves, said Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) deputy president Amde Sidik.

He said this while commenting on the statement of Sabah People Front Party's (SPFP) President Berman Angkap yesterday, proposing Anwar to lead the opposition in Sabah.

SAPP buat lebih baik mengenai isu Bumiputera

MASYARAKAT Sabah perlu mengubah sikap mereka jika inginkan kemajuan.

Sabah's new hope is SAPP

By Amde Sidik

SAPP has always been prepared to sit down with other opposition political leaders in the State, no question about it so long as the agenda is to topple the present state government in Sabah.

While at the Federal level, SAPP leaders are supporting all out federal based opposition. It should be better that way, clear division of labour.

For those who are wary and worry should SAPP get a simple majority to form a government, the situation is no better than during PBS government where PBS was whacked left and right, in the end resorted to joining BN; in my view, the scenario is no longer the same. We are in different era.

VOTE FOR A CHANGE FOR SABAH!

SAPP is facing an uphill task in this by-election with both BN and PKR trying to undermine its chances of wrestling the Batu Sapi Parliamentary seat. Dap Hiew King Cheu with his team is going around distributing leaflets telling the people and voters that SAPP is an agent of BN which is absolutely a LIE .

SAPP is along very consistent with their stand on Sabah and offered to be friends with Pakatan, to conquer Putrajaya and corrupt BN but sadly to say we are on our own at the moment, unless Pakatan understands, that SAPP is fighting for Sabah.  By not joining Pakatan,  does not mean the bridge is broken.

Malaysia Agreement enforceable in court of law

Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) pledged to bring the Federal Government and the British Government to the Court for dishonouring the Malaysia Agreement once getting the mandate from the people.

President Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee said that among others, the clear breach of agreement was on the Borneonisation of the federal public service in Sabah in pursuant to the Malaysia Agreement that was signed in London on 9 July, 1963.

Sabah Tidak Perlu 1Malaysia

SAPP will continue to be the voice of the people

PBS Datuk Herbert Timbon Lagadan's outburst and asking SAPP to SHUT UP showed  that they are arrogant and losing their direction.
"Projek IC", phantom voters and the unfair delineation of elections boundaries have suddenly turn to inaudible whimpers. That is what happened to 8 years of renewed loyalty in BN.
"The more recent much publicized disgruntled views of the various leaders from the BN component parties, the confusion with the Indonesian consulate as well as the various employers organizations is ample proof that there is a complete lack of comprehensive policies by the BN government with regards to this illegal immigrants (PTI) issue. This clearly shows that BN is directionless, lost and clueless as to how to best resolve this issue.

A Review of State-Federal Relations is timely

Kota Kinabalu, Tuesday, 25 May 2010: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President, Datuk Yong Teck Lee today said that the debate whether Sabah is one of three equal partners or one of thirteen states in Malaysia shows that a review of the State and Federal relationship is relevant and timely.

"SAPP will push for a review in line with SAPP's 8-Points struggle for autonomy and the return of Labuan .

"The review may propose that the High Court in Borneo be uplifted in authority and status. The granting of federal citizenship in Sabah must require State consent. Schedule 9 (Legislative Lists) of the Federal Constitution can be amended to give more jurisdiction to Sabah and Sarawak ...more

'I stopped PM from ordering Yong's arrest'

Sapp information chief Chong Pit Fah described this as a "a shocking revelation" that he (Raymond Tan) can influence the prime minister to stop ACA action.

"This is an admission by a BN deputy chief minister that the prime minister can interfere with ACA work," Chong said in a statement issued yesterday.

He also wanted to know if the same influence could be used on other persons such as serving ministers, or similarly abused. More...

Tan should be more grateful, honest and conscientious

KOTA KINABALU, Sep 19, 2008: More grateful, honest and conscientious was the call by SAPP Information Chief, Chong Pit Fah, to Raymond Tan, a former Deputy President, when making his statement in the press claiming the party (SAPP) had ditched him.

Tan, who is holding an important Deputy Chief Minister’s post, was very reluctant to give up his post, in view of so much vested interests and privileges he is having at the moment, which put his own interests above the party and its struggle, policies and discipline. more...

SAPP dissociates itself from Barisan Nasional

The BN has lost its "BN spirit". It was not that the people who did not want the BN, it was the BN who abandoned the people.

In spite of repeated appeals from some BN members to other BN leaders to be more sensitive to the peoples' feelings, these leaders continue to treat the people with contempt.

Perhaps, after 50 years of uninterrupted government, some BN leaders have got it in their heads that they have a divine right to rule.

SAPP for non-racial politics

Yong Teck Lee: "The land slide victory of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim augurs well for non-racial politics in Malaysia. The rejection of racial politics shown in the March general elections has been repeated resoundingly by the voters of Permatang Pauh of whom 69% are Malays."

SAPP regrets demonstrations by UiTM students

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) claimed that Umno orchestrated the demonstrations by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) students nationwide over the call by Selangr Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, to open the university to non-Bumiputeras.

Its education bureau chief Datuk Wong Yit Ming said this has tarnished the university's image and would affect the students' future careers.

He hoped the party leaders could be more sensitive towards the feelings of others when making any statement in future.

Wong also reiterated SAPP's stand to non-racial politics as declared in its "8-Point Declaration". more...

"SAPP as one of the (Barisan) component parties in Sabah has delivered its views. We also hold similar views (on the problems raised by SAPP)," said Upko President Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, Friday.

He said Sabah would continue to be defended in terms of its rights as long as it continues to have voices such as from SAPP and Upko. more...

SAPP's 8 points declaration

KOTA KINABALU, August 7, 2008: SAPP Deputy Information Chief, Chong Pit Fah, reminded LDP President Datuk VK Liew of his obligation towards the people of Sabah, instead of singing to the tune of the Federal leadership. He (VK Liew) said the BN has more important issues to attend to than attending to the needs of Sabah people. SAPP's 8 Points Declaration

We will reiterate the points we made in our earlier statements on why we have lost confidence in the prime minister," said Yong when contacted today.

"The question of backing down does not arise at this juncture. Instead, we urge them to find out why Sapp feels this way."
