Question to SIR Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai : "Have you received any awards, appointments or had any publications?"
Sir Yee's Answer: "I was awarded 'Young Malaysian of the Year' in 1994 and a Datukship (PGDK) in 2004 from the State Government of Sabah, carrying the title of 'Datuk' (the equivalent of a knighthood)"
Yee now, should be addressed as Sir Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, correct me if I'm wrong.
Kota Kinabalu, July 3, 2010: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Treasurer-General, Datuk Wong Yit Ming, said Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, who is the State Resource Development and Information Minister should not have blamed the website editors for information provided at the British Cardiff Law School website: www.law.cf.ac.uk but himself.

Wong urges Yee not to be a hypocrite and lying to the public which is not acceptable especially from a lawyer.
"Instead, Yee should apologize to the TYT for mentioning that Sabah's Datukship is equivalent of a knighthood. By comparing Datukship with the British Knighthood without referring to the State Government in order to have his British friends to call him "SIR", he could have broken the rule of conduct as a lawyer and State Minister.
To find out whether Datuk Dr. Yee Moi Chai is telling the truth or not, SAPP Treasurer General would like Sabah Law Association to investigate Datuk Dr. Yee's conduct as a lawyer. If he lies to the public, the association should take action against him as a member to protect the image of lawyers.
"By not taking any action to rectify the mistake, Yee is purposely trying to mislead others especially in other countries e.g. UK since May 2005 (the date profile was posted).
western people will do not know what "Datuk" mean. that is why he uses the western term so that they will understand the meaning of Datuk... when foreigner ask you, what is Datuk mean? will you provide a long explanation or just a short word since there are almost the same meaning..

Schools were not spared to serve his passion.
The title SIR was given by the British queen for excellent services and it was held with high esteem and recognised the whole world.

Datukships are too common in Malaysia as compared with few Sirs which is known worldwide and treated with high esteem.
Just throw a stone... anytime can hit 30 to 50 datuks in any BN function...
ReplyDeleteAsk around, all that people can remember of Yee is his Iron longkang chairs engraved with his name. Apart from that he also put up signboards with his name on small projects built by government funds. Anywhere these are small matters done by small man lah. Government is wasting money paying him all the big salaries for doing only small jobs.

ReplyDeleteIt could be more viable for him since he can also save his ass from being elected out in the next GE...the same sentiments which is why Tham opted out of the Elopura election for fear of losing due to losing support from the people becoz of his selfish deeds.
Dr Yee may want to follow Tham's footsteps and enriching himself out of sight from the people's eyes.
No doubt, Tham has enriched himself by selling off SMC to the government at an exhorbitant price earning hundreds of millions through his devious tactics, connections.
Sources spread that Dr Yee's pol sec John Lim commonly known as 'Lau chen Lim' may be his successor to contest in the Api-Api come next GE.
