PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY FOR SABAH!!?!!?

On 8 November 2008, it was reported that Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Bernard Dompok had said that the Federal Government in their cabinet meeting agreed that a full-fledged petrochemical industry would be set up in the state using natural gas obtained from Sabah.

Subsequently, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman hailed the decision of the Federal Government to set up a petrochemical industry in the State, saying it augurs well for the Sabah Development Corridor plan.

This has prompted Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Husin to jump on the bandwagon saying it is a privilege the people in Sabah should enjoy given its natural resources.

The interesting thing is that only excess gas will be piped to Bintulu.

  1. UMNO can smell what will happen to Sabah... the smell of change!!!
UMNO buaya from semenanjung want to "Rompak" our gas so that if BN collapes they still loaded...
I hope, We hope, Sabahan hope, Malaysian hope Datuk Anifah will reject that project coz we heard something-something!!!

  2. Mr anon,

  3. UPKO and Dompok, by agreeing to this "smart" plan by the federal, is showing to the people their "true color" in dealing with federal. All they can do is talk talk talk while producing no meaningful results, just like another Dr.Koh of Gerakan.

Good luck to the KDM who're still "dreaming" for UPKO and PBS to fight for them.

  4. I smell a rotten fish! Who knows that we will have to much gas to process in SABAH?? Thos is pulling on our feet! FIRST the pipeline is build and then, out of the blue (rooten fish) they find out it is not fisible to build a processing plant and everything is as it supposed to be from UMNO Petronas way of thinking. I promiss you, if the pipeline is build first, Sabah will NEVER see this Gas Processing Plant come true!

  5. YES WE CAN! and WE MUST insist on Gas Processing Plant in Sabah first. Don't be conned again.

  6. The Petrochemical industry is important for Sabahan in terms of economic spin-off, jobs etc.

If we don't do something now, the future Sabahan will be left with nothing and become beggars.

No to Gas Pipeline , yes to Petrochemical Industry in Sabah.

  9. Sabahan must shake and wake up their YBs from their slumber and not to think of their own interests anymore for the sake of future generation Sabahan. If not, even YBs children also will be looked down by the people next time if the YBs don't do something about this Gas Pipeline to Bintulu now.

With Petrochemical Industry in Sabah and 20% Oil Royalty , we can improve the living conditions of all Sabahan.

Just look at Tarakan and Balikpapan in Indonesia (East Kalimantan). Why are the people living there having better lives than other parts of the Island ? Because of petrol and gas industry there.

Sabah Boleh ! It's our chance now to improve the living conditions of the Sabahan from all races by saying No to Gas Pipeline to Bintulu.

  10. Agree with Anonymous November 11, 2008 3:26 PM....

UPKO is the only voice within BN that has been pushing to abolish the construction of gas pipelines while other Sabah BN components looked half hearted at best. It is already clear that UPKO has run OUT OF PUFF by standing up to bully of Federal Government.

SAPP seems to be our best bet in uniting Sabahan against the thief from Putrajaya.

  12. Do we really know that DSAI would now be the Head of Government (Prime Minister with his appointed Cabinet Ministers not from MPs & Senators) although Party Pakatan Rakyat is not having the MAJORITY seats in the Parliament SHOULD Malaysia now having the element of Two Terms PM, Separation of Power and Direct PM election (Electoral College)that is similiar to USA Political System.

People elected President to be Mr. Obama and his appointed cabinets (EXECUTIVE BODY)is a Democrat, whilst the America House of Congress (similar to Parliament- LAW MAKING BODY)consist of peoples elected Senators and House of Representatives were Republican by majority. Judges (JUDICIAL BODY) were elected by House Congress and not appointed by the President.

Why....is so? coz there is an element of Separation of Power between EXECUTIVE, LAW MAKER and JUDICIAL with check and balance.

  13. With Sabah considered as Cash cow and Fixed deposit to the UMNO BN government, this will go against Sabah AGAIN! The pipeline will be build and than we can be 100% sure, this gas processing plant will be canceled because Petronas will see no further use for it and the Sabah and KL government will say YES to this plan because tahts what they want all along! As long SABAH is in this unhealthy relationship with Malaya, nothing and I mean nothing will change for the better for this beautyfull country! Musa will just say Yes and life has to go on because Sabahans do not push hard for change and support SAPP. So the saying goes: each country has the government its deserves! Think about it! YOU CAN make a different in getting involved in politics for you fellow Sabahans! Sitting back and complaining ONLY to your friends and familie does NOT HELP!

  16. Now we are talking about coal powered plant. WHY? TN can not reduce the tariff for electricity because coal price is high and gets higher every day. WHY use coal and pump our gas to Sarawak???????? Who is cashing in on this deal?

    ReplyDelete
  17. This pipeline will be build to ensure Sarawaks further grows because Saba is a noisens to UMNO BN and Sarawak is running the way UMNO BN like it. Petronas will never ever build a Gas Processing Plant in Sabah and risk a loss in Bintulu. A Gas selling contract was singned with Japan many years ago, on a fixed price!, and Bintulu Petronas has to make sure that this contract is fullfilled!

SABAH will not get the gas if SAPP is not pressing hard for it!

  20. Dr Mahathir said mega projects proposed before will become "catalyst" to the country's economic growth while stopping all mega projects would slow down the economy.

"Every time the government spends money for mega projects, many people, including contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and workers, will make money.

"Nasi lemak sellers will also make money. When the projects are stopped, all these people will also stop. Hence, this way is not a wise move," he added. - Bernama

The same benefits will be gained by Sabahan with the Petrochemical Industry in Sabah, so please Sabahan insist on No Gas Pipeline to Sarawak which will benefit others and not Sabahan.

  21. BN YBs with conscience should not think of their own interests anymore, this petrochemical project in Sabah is very important for the future of Sabahan. Do we still want to be the poorest state despite all the natural resouces in Sabah ?

Don't let the future generation curse the present leaders for not stopping the Gas Pipeline Project.

    R. Tan won his seat as a SAPP member, right? Now he is independent, waiting to form a new party to get into the folds of UMNO BN, right? Would it not be necessary to have a by election since he got his seat under SAPP???? What is he doing in the pipeline case for the SABAHANS? I do not talk about his private account! Can he just stay in his SAPP seat and change party because it fits him better? Can someone tell me pls. how is this possible! Thanks! I hope we will have a by election for his seat and this will get SAPP back into the game again since R. Tan is not doing what he is supposed to do...stand up for Sabahans!

It is our last chance to make the right moves and open up to a brighter future for ALL MALAYSIANS without looking on race, religion or other criterias. 29. Marican also said some Sabah leaders who have been agitating for the gas to be landed wholly in Kimanis and for a new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant to be built would be disappointed to learn that the gas deposits off Sabah are the lowest in the nation, only 10-12 trillion cubic feet.

Then use it to run a gas Power plant for Sabah and take the saved money and get a integrated power grid done! Would help all Sabahans private and commercial because less power breaks and hence less loss in production. If the gas deposit is so low a 1.5 to 3 billion RM investment would be a bad investment, so....something is fishy here! And the local government was in it all the time! Bravo well done to cheat the Sabahans, you OWN ppl!

  36. Hi everyone out there Long time no talk lah .

Umno is drawing Sabahans gas out from Land Below The Wind , the most greedy UMNO , then give some to UPKO inorder to shut their mouth as well as give assurance that if ever UPKO jump ship , UMNO can count on PBS , this has been confirmed by PM's speech during the PBS AGM Congress .

At the end of the day all KDM are feeded well , so true enough they all keep quite now.
No more Barking , no more bising .

Who cares about Rakyat , in a very near future , we all old leaders are going to Pension at all .
    I dun care , who cares ???
Who are my Rakyat ?? What Rakyat ??

PBS & UPKO answer : " Money is my Rakyat . Money is my Savior .
Yes UMNO , YES PM .

    Ya ,, Betul
    ( Coconut , Botol )

    Kow down to the MASTER
Thats all they know , easy way of getting money , thats typical Leaders of Sabah .

Come next General Election , Vote for the Party that can fight for Sabahans not those Sabah leaders that Kow Down to UMNO .

    ReplyDelete
  37. Next GE most Sabahans have forgooten all about it and vote for UMNO again. Plus all green card holders. Even if all original Sabahans vote for Anwar the illigals will overturn this vote. Thats the reason for given green cards so freely!

  38. Sabah politic Since USNO time
all politicion is to learn how to get as much money as they can , if they dun wan to be corrupted , they were considerd as BODOH .

So SAPP leaders are all BODOH interms of interpretation of USNO .

SAPP is now a People;s based party .

SAPP leaders are making sacrifice .
For who ?? For Rakyat of Sabah .

If to follow the term describe by MK ,
PBS & UPKO answer : " What Rakyat ?? Who Rakyat ?? MONEY is my Rakyat . UMNO is my Master . "

    ReplyDelete
  39. Lets all fight against the reason behind the GREEN CARDS scheme ?

1 Green cards are noy supposed to VOTE .
    2) Green Cards can be temporary allow to stay .
    3) Green cards can be allow to work temporary .
    4) Green cards are not meant for PERMANENT Citizen

All politicians leaders must united to fight this EVIL plan by UMNO Federal who wants to overrule Sabah .
    Be ware Tobinai Sabahans
Be ware the hunting wolf from Federal .
Be ware the Poison Gula Gula that can poison our mind & soul .

I sometime still wonder why there is UMNO in Sabah. The last time a checked sabah history they arent a single malay here during the british time right?
and up till 2008 there still no sign of any Sabah native malays.so why do we need a malay based political party? how can a malay party fight for the natives of Sabah?

i thought that malays are from Malaysia?
