Money laundering by Sabah politicians?

Reports are rife on the detention of several people linked to a top ranking political personality from Sabah to facilitate investigations of money laundering activities by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC).

It was published in the national Chinese daily, Nanyang Siang Pau and news portal Malaysiakini.

Nanyang Siang Pau on June 11 claimed eight people linked to the Chief Minister of Sabah had been detained by MACC to facilitate investigations into cases linked to the high profile case when a businessman with known business links to Sabah Umno was apprehended at the Hong Kong International Airport on Aug 18, 2006 with RM16 million in cash, which he could not accounted for.

  1. KK to get fourth govt hospital

KOTA KINABALU: Construction of a government hospital, which will be the fourth for the state capital, will begin next year, said Deputy Health Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin.

She said the hospital, which would have between 600 and 800 beds, would be constructed on a 20.2ha site at Bukit Padang, about 5km from the city.

“This will not be an upgrading or an extension of the Bukit Padang psychiatric hospital,” Rosnah said after attending the bersanding ceremony of Sabah Puteri Umno chief Musliati Moslimin and Mohd Nizam Nazib yesterday.

She said the new medical facility was among the eight general hospitals planned under the 10th Malaysia Plan that was unveiled last week by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The new hospital and the upgrading of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) would ensure sufficient medical facilities to meet the needs of the people here, she said.

Apart from the QEH, the other government hospitals are the Likas Women and Children’s Hospital and the Sabah Medical Centre in Luyang.

  11. This report has been circulating for some times now & it is not been confirmed yet. But i think that it is unlikely to be a facts since there are so many contradict reports about it.

  15. I think this issue like people said, "there is no smoke without fire".

Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption has however frozen more than US$40 million (RM131 million) before the money could be transferred out.

There could more politicians involved as this laundering amount is in the hundreds of millions!

  16. We should stop making accusation towards the CM. Reports are not even confirm yet. I don't see how the CM is actually associated in this immoral activity. It is not for us to judge. Let the MACC investigate this case truly first.

  17. don't make speculation if not have evidence, let the MACC investigate this case.

    ReplyDelete
  18. there's no solid evidences that show a link between Musa and the crime..means, Musa is not guilty..let the MACC doing their jobs...

  27. Kalau lah hal ni betul kan rasanya dah lama Musa Aman kena bah.. Tapi sampai sekarang Musa Aman OK ja pun. So, ini bermakna kalau takda bukti tak payah lah diperbesarkan dulu. Biar autoriti buat kerja

  28. Musa will be 'exonerated' becoz he is in BN.

Kalau u opposition, corruption 1,000 ringgit, kau kena itu.

That is how BN works. "You help me, I help you"

  29. Musa Aman memang tak terlibat, spekulasi ni sengaja dibuat untuk menjatuhkannya.

    ReplyDelete
  30. stop this accusation and wait the investigation result..

    ReplyDelete
  31. right..we just wait the MACC doing their investigation.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Spekulasi saja...ada orang yg mahu mengambil kerusi KM drpd Musa....cara yg paling senang sebarkan spekulasi, biar nama Musa buruk....tapi orang ramai bijak menilai mana fakta & mana fiksyen...Musa adalah terbaik untuk kita & Sabah...yakin lah...

  33. bagus kau cari itu Joe Fernandez of Malaysiakini, whether what he wrote is true or not and how he got the info. Ask him if he lied or not.

  34. VK Liew said, "In the matters that were reported in Nanyang Siang Pao and the news portal Malaysiakini, lately, the best course of action is to let the MACC investigate the allegation, if any," he said.

Liew (Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Dept), whose jurisdiction includes the MACC, urged the people to be rational and remain calm.

Don't be easily influenced by irresponsible rumour mongers, he added.

That means Nanyang Siang Pau and Malaysiakini are only rumour mongers and irresponsible.

  35. Although Musa looks like a moderate leader, the problem is he has an insatiable appetite for more wealth just like Jimmy Wong said, "Vacuum cleaner" in the state assembly.

More wealth means more power like tambah minyak.

  36. Kejadian berlaku 2006. Sekarang sudah 2010. Berapa lama lagi MACC mau jalankan siasatan ?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hai, samanda...how do you know Musa Aman is not involved ? Are you the authority to say what you think ? I believe he is involved and if he is not involved it's because he has MONEY and POWER...

    ReplyDelete
  38. If money laundering is from opposition party then MACC will said they have evident.
Look at the previous Perak case. 2 person under corruption were at opposition party. Once they become independence party, they are set free.
Look at Khir Toyol multi million bungalow. Until now still no news.
Look at Bung Mochtar case. Show bad example yet can still remain in Parliment.
What happen should the above persons be in opposition? Where will they stand?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why is Musa keeping so quiet on this?

If he is not involved, he will be viciously denying such allegations.

    ???? think about that.

  40. Pengubahan wang haram bukan sesuatu yang baru.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Musa, you need to come up with some explanation on this allegation of money laundering, lah.

By keeping mum means that you admitted it, so god help you.
