Jobless and homeless Sabahans in KL is saddening

"The plight of young Sabahans in the Peninsula Malaysia under the noses of present Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders in Kuala Lumpur is a sad phenomenon.

As such, the government must quickly address it, said Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Presiden Datuk Yong Teck Lee.

"The outflow of many Sabahans to the Peninsula Malaysia looking for jobs is proof that our State economy has failed them, although labour migration is unavoidable the fact that many of these young Sabahans have become destitute or getting into crime and vices are glaring signs that they left Sabah ill-equipped and unprepared for the risks of being a migrant worker," he said.

  1. Sorry, but not the state economy has failed the state but the STATE LEADER! Giving all the power to mainland Malaysia did mean for Sabah, no development but all the profit from oil, gas, palm oil, rubber, timber goes to KL!

It is time to get out of this unhealthy alliance!!!!

Pengecut!!!

  7. It has proven the incompetence BN FAILED to bring in FDI into Sabah to create more job opportunities for the local.

What the evil AMNO good is to bring in more than million of ILLEGAL MUSLIM IMMIGRANTS to fill up 25% of total Sabah population to became muslim bumiputra to fight for a job with our local.

This ILLEGAL MUSLIM IMMIGRANTS will create a LONG-TERM LIABILITIES to the state government.

This is what the evil amno always champion of HUMAN CAPITAL with a bunch of monkey ILLEGAL MUSLIM IMMIGRANTS from our neighbouring country.

The evil amno and their PTI will be KICK OUT from Sabah for good.

Why businessmen specially chinese local need PTI labour so much?

Look around and sometimes just slap your own face my fellow malaysian!

Salah-salah you have PTI to build your house or take care of your young and old too.
"Why why why you tell me why?"

Once get job just like to be 'tauke' or commander and leave the job to PTI, believe it or not?

  10. The latest disclosure by KL Police chief that Sabahans have became thiefs and robbers in Peninsular in even more saddening and shocking. What had happened to Sabah now that our children have to go to earn a living in KL and subsequently forced into a situation whereby they had to commit crimes in order to feed themselves? What happened to our resource rich land? what happened to our dignity. Our state has been very kind to the refugees, foreign workers but what about our own people? Waht hope is there for the future of our younger generations if the State can not take care of the people and create enough jobs. It is getting worse and hopeless. Something drastic must be done to save ourselves. Since the government don't care and so helpless, CHANGE THE GOVERNMENT!

  11. how many young ones from Sabah go to KL with the idea to earn money without hard work? A lot- most of them, because they would have jobs in Sabah, but............. earning money has something to do with working hard and asking what they like to do, you get the answer: clubbing! If you offer them a job 8-5 and 1hour lunch break the next question is: how much do you pay? below 1500RM they say know - if interested, the next question is: how many leave days do I have? Answer: 14. Next question: can I have 3 days off right away? Answer: No! You have to work for a minimum of 6 month to earn this days. Next thing you know - they walk out on you! They want 21-30 days leave, 1800RM ++, longer lunch breaks and starting work on Mondays only after 10 O'clock! And in the first month they are on medical leave for at least 4 days if they have to work on Saturdays! How to find a job with an attitude like this??????

Malaysia’s richest recover some of their wealth

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s 40 richest people recorded an increase in their fortunes and were collectively worth RM156.7bil as at Jan 15, or 63% more than the RM96.3bil a year ago, on the back of a recovery in the stock market, a Malaysian Business survey reveals.

However, according to the fortnightly magazine’s survey results released in a statement Tuesday, their combined wealth was still less than the RM171.9bil recorded in 2008 (based on their 2007 earnings).

The benchmark FBM KLCI has risen 44.3% since its last survey as the world strives to get back on its feet following the global financial crisis.

The full list of the 40 tycoons and details of their wealth were published in the magazine’s Feb 16 issue.

As in the previous year, the wealth of the Top 40 was assessed based on the value of their stakes in listed companies as at Jan 15 this year.

The survey also revealed that close to half on this year’s list recorded jumps of 50% or more. There are also more billionaires this year -- 22, eight more than last year.

Tan Sri Robert Kuok, the Kuok Group patriarch who relinquished his “Sugar King” crown last year, still tops the list with a wealth of RM42.76bil, up RM16.1bil from RM26.6bil a year ago.

Media-shy telecommunication tycoon T. Ananda Krishnan ranked second, clocking in at RM27bil.

IOI Corporation Bhd’s Tan Sri Lee Shin Chen was third with a wealth of RM11.92bil, followed by prominent banker Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow at RM10.86bil.

Genting Group’s Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, valued at RM10.38bil, leapt a full 10 spots to five. This was because he assumed a large chunk of the wealth of his late father, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong.

Hong Leong Group’s Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan took the sixth spot at RM7.09bil while Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary of the Albukhary Foundation, valued at RM6.01bil, settled at seventh.

Others in the Top-10 ranking were Lim Goh Tong’s widow Puan Sri Lee Kim Hua, Tan Sri Tiong Hiew King of Rimbunan Hijau Group and Tan Sri Vincent Tan of the Berjaya Group.

There were five newcomers to the list, namely Lee Swee Eng of KNM Group, brothers Datuk Shahril Shamsuddin and Shahriman Shamsuddin of Sapura, Datuk Seri Nazir Razak of CIMB Group and OSK Holdings’ Ong Leong Huat, who made a comeback to the list after a one-year absence. -- Bernama

  13. Job less in K.L ? why? I used to live in K.L for so many years.
A job could be found if you are not choosy and determine to do so.
It does not matter if you are skill or unskill. you can work in the fast food chain, restaurant, contruction site , as work permit is not required. you could be a maid if you are a lady, washing dishes ,waiteress etc. right?
I was told someone of them were in the centre for more than a year , why ? it is better to teach them how to fish then give them the fish to eat every day .

    concerned

    ReplyDelete
  14. i agreed with what mollie said about better to teach them fish...but who is suppose to teach them fish tell them where to fish, what to do with the fish...The problem is not that simple. Can't you see that the State is plagued with illegal immigrants, phantom voters, rhetoric ministers who only goood at lips-service just short of blow service? The Minister Yee at a time said about 50,000 people seeking jobs. Another time he said there are plenty of jobs in Sabah. What the F is he talking about? We should look at the cause of the problems. If the youths are choosy, we should give them consultations. If they have social ills, drugs, lazy or whatever, as a responsible government, you should help them, guide them, rehabilitate them instead of blaming them and finding excuses for your own failure because you are partly responsible. If you can't do any help to follow Sabahans, you should be ashame and quit you job or else your consience will haunt you forever.

  15. This is such a complicated topic. Should BN be blamed for those Sabahans that can't have their butts stick in Sabah without having to move to other states? I'm sure BN is doing their best to satisfied the people here and we will never know Maybe the Sabahans that moves to other states for other purpose, you will never know...so, whom to blame?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't think those stranded Sabahans really know what they were doing. People may had told them about the jobs offered in the west can offer higher salary and lots of benefitsthan the jobs in Sabah. It's a sad thing that they did't know it's not that simple, the world is just not that easy.

  17. People want more money, want more fame. People are confused with their decisions, so now their lives are worst then they think. It's their choice.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I believe that those stranded Sabahan can really find a job in KL as job opportunities in KL is higher than Sabah, but if a person is too choosy and don't wanna take any hard work, they won't wanna find a job and rather go begging for even a single penny.

    ReplyDelete
  19. People just can't face the facts that life is not easy, it's reality.

They rather stay there to beg for money than to accept the facts.

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's not the state leader's fault that failed them, it's the people themselves! The people think that it's boring to stay in Sabah, they want to try new things.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Those Sabahans will never go jobless in KL if they are not too choosy. KL needs lots of labors as they are the largest producer industry in Malaysia. It's unreasonable if a person go jobless there. It may not be the type of work you want but the pay might be better than the pay offered in Sabah.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Do you think it's a necessary to discuss on this topic? I mean, it's a waste of time. The people went KL for the sake of themselves. It's their own damn fault for going there, they're just half awake!!

  24. many youths Sabah migrate into peninsula to prospect better jobs. this is because salary offered in higher peninsula. state government should created more job opportunities in Sabah so that youth Sabah no need to migrate to Sabah. this also can avoid this issue arise.
