Detained 'Indian national' in Sabah says he's Malaysian

According to the facts of the case according to the lawyers, Majid arrived in Sabah from India in 1983 and worked as a restaurant helper in Papar along the west coast, an hour's drive south of Kota Kinabalu.

Ten years later, in 1993, he applied for a Malaysian identity card (IC) through the district NRD office under the IC Projek Pedalaman (Interior Division IC Project).

It was not immediately clear what personal documents he used to apply for the Malaysian IC.

Question No. 1 - How many people like him got their citizenship this way?
Question No. 2 - Based on what criteria he acquired citizenship?
Question No. 3 - Projek Pedalaman (Interior Division IC Project) is meant for true locals born here without documents i.e. the indigenous bumiputras...Not meant for foreigners!

  1. MUsa Aman pun PTI yang kasi manang, termasuk juga ahli ahli SAPP, jadi apa mau bising.

Insaflah

  5. Dr Chong, a leading general surgeon at the Sabah Medical Centre in Kota Kinabalu, had always been an activist against illegal immigration.

    The writer won a landmark judgment that prompted the Election Commission to have the Election Act amended to the effect that once the Electoral Rolls have been gazetted, they are not challengeable in any court of law.

    Better late than never, Dr Chong has marshaled an impressive array of facts and figures in this documentation of an explosive issue, illegal immigration, for posterity.

    It is feared that there will be "a reverse takeover" of the state one day by foreigners i.e. if it is not already happening.

    Mahathir's continued silence should tell us all something of the warped sense of destiny of Malaysia's 4th Prime Minister.

    He remains smug in the knowledge that no one can set the wheels in motion to go after him.

    The Sabah of today and Malaysia which lurches from crisis to crisis is the result of the misguided policies of the Mahathir years which rewrote the rules on national security.

    Basically, this is a tale of abuse of power and an exercise in acts of absolute power.

  6. cont'd...

    Sabah was child's play compared with Peninsular Malaysia which had formidable foes in the form of the Bar Council, the NGOs, PAS and DAP, among others.

    The amazing theme running through Lest We Forget is how easily the Federal Civil Service in Sabah caves in to the demands of their political masters and is willing to set aside internal systems of checks and balances to achieve a political goal.

    That the Civil Service has been infiltrated by party politics over the last half century and heavily politicised is an open secret.

    Even so, it's surprising to discover the levels to which ordinary civil servants are willing to stoop to please their political masters.

  7. When you have Devils in Disguise in the UMNO/BN,I'm surprise we haven heard of an Eskimo already a Malaysian citizen.Next UMNO/BN may even decide to send our innocent orang utans to vote in the next election.

    Read more about devil in disguise in my blog

  9. An obituary printed in the London Times - interesting and sadly rather true.

    "Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has
    been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since
    his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be
    remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

    - knowing when to come in out of the rain;
    - why the early bird gets the worm;
    - life isn't always fair; and
    - maybe it was my fault.

    Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more
    than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in
    charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
    overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy
    charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from
    school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding
    an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

    Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job
    that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
    It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent
    to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform
    parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

    Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and
    criminals received better treatment than their victims.

    Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar
    in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

    Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
    realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her
    lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

    Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his
    wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

    He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
    I Know My Rights;
    I Want It Now;
    Someone Else Is To Blame; and
    I'm A Victim.

    Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you
    still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do

  10. Too doubtful of this buddy's sincerity for 1 Malaysia! He can never grow and a real lousy one of its kind not fit to be a malaysian.
    What you say as our 1 Malaysia PM?
    He can lead his people to become miserable in challenging world for the future. "Katak masih mimpi dibawah pokok kelapa! "

[Quote]

  13. O...I am sadly too for the "common sense"!
    Just like what many among us don't do what we should have done so before but regret it didn't whenever we are not the one anymore!!!
    It is too common a 'phobia' for many in leadership to even forget or speak of something not anymore they can do as they could have done it like 'common sense'!
    It has become a history of yesterday for many issue and let me tell you because they behave like their good friend named 'selfish'!

  14. this is a weird country with freak people. we complain everyday, every minute, every second about corruption, unjust, unfair, unrighteous.............! but when come to the time for us to choose and decide the next government ( our servant ), the same fail government we choose back. haha...! how mercy and stupid people we have in this country. within few decade, we are left behind by singapore a small republic that once upon a time abandoned by malaya. why?? singapore never observe those who are not qualify according to their own rules and regulations to be their pr or citizen. every year, we malaysia boleh, have help and train hundred of our best students and force them to go to singapore to contribute and develop the country. in the same time we proudly observe thousand of those who are uneducated, virus carrier, criminals etc into this country. why? for political reason indeed.
    hahahah......! funny country.

    i m not a freak

  16. Sabah’s population was about 3.248 million in 2009. According to Dr. Chong Eng Leong in his book ‘Lest We Forget’, the Sabah’s population can be explained as follows:

    Paperless or fake/expired papers = 750,000

    IMM13 holders = 64,000

    Project IC/M holders + their children = 600,000

    PR status granted to “refugees” in 2006 = (17,000)

    Foreigners with work permit = (300,000)

    Bona Fide Malaysians = 1,500,000

    Total = 3,230,000
