Malaysia's inflation rate jumps to a 27-year high of 8.5 percent in August driven by escalating cost of food and fuel. Cost of food & non-alcoholic drinks rose to 11.7 percent! Transport rose to 21.8% while restaurants and hotels - 6.5%! Inflation is expected to rise further although the government cut petrol & diesel prices by a mere 10 sen.
The effects of the June fuel hike of a whopping 41% brought cost of food, transportation and other items to skyrocket which would seem to be irreversible. Anyway, the harm was done, no thanks to the PM.

My wife have to go to work at nights... to make ends meet.
Prices of food will never go down. These unscrupulous business people will take all the advantage to increase their earnings.

Nasi Ayam in Sabah KK now is RM4.50
Kopi-O some still RM1.00 but others naik to RM1.20.
If you want to eat at the more popular outlets. Cha Sau, Ayam, Sau Nyuk (Non-halal) with Rice is RM5.50 to RM6.00 per plate!

ReplyDeleteThe recent decrease in fuel prices by 10 sen is just peanuts compared to the 87 sen increase in June.
ReplyDeleteEven though the govt said, it could ease our budget, saying is easy. come on, don't talk stupid.
The big problem is our food prices now, caused by fuel hike. What the government should do is to initiate what actions to be done to control or lower our local food prices.
