  1. KOTA KINABALU, July 8, 2008: SAPP Secretary-General, Datuk Richard Yong today categorically asserted that SAPP's stand on SAPP’s loss of confidence in the PM still remains.

Yong asserted this in a brief statement issued here today, to clarify the news reports yesterday that "SAPP drops no-confidence motion".

He reiterated that the Party will proceed with the proposed motion of no-confidence against the Prime Minister when the time comes, but not at the moment in order not to fall into the trap of some racialist opportunists especially in view of the current volatile situation in the country.

He also noted that its MP Datuk Dr Chua Soon Bui has at the Parliament House today categorically clarified the news reports on her interview yesterday which, had been distorted as, she had never said SAPP has dropped the proposed motion.

  2. No-confidence issue is not over, says SAPP
    By LEE YUK PENG

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah Progressive Party’s (SAPP) deputy president Datuk Eric E. Majimbun (BN - Sepanggar) does not rule out the possibility of filing a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in future.
The party may do so at other times when the political scenario and ground sentiment deem suitable for such action.
At the moment, Eric said it was not suitable to do so.
"I (would) never say it is off," said Eric when asked by reporters at the Parliament Lobby on Tuesday.
Asked whether the party had sent the motion to the Speaker, Eric said "not yet" but the party may do so “ when the time comes.”
Eric, however, thanked the Government for paying more attention to Sabah now.
Asked whether he would leave Barisan Nasional to join the Opposition, Eric said: “We never say we are out of Barisan.
“We are still in the SAPP,” he said.
Eric also said the party was in the midst of preparing its reply to the show-cause letter issued by Barisan.
Eric also said the threat issue was over and he was not worried about that.
“I am safe in Malaysia, this is our country,” he said.

  8. Hello Bloggers,

Due to recent confusion on what Tawau MP Chua Soon Bui had spoken and was distorted by the media and websites saying that SAPP had dropped its motion of no-confidence on the PM.

As a web administrator, there are many incoming comments from anonymous bloggers condemning using extremely foul languages, which I saw and felt much disgust the way they make curses.

Therefore all future comments will be moderated. Those with foul words and touching on racial and religious sentiments will not be accepted.

We accept criticisms which are constructive in nature.

    Thank you

  14. Dear Malaysians and Sabahans,

Ripleys investigated and read a long wet message from Tun Che Det regarding the UMNO apologists have labelled him as a big “DICTATOR” in Malaysia.

Bravo! Tun wrote his very long sick message to hit out the UMNO & BN apologists.

Ripleys requote some phrases from Tun’s article as follows:-

Tun Dr M said : “the Western journalists prefer to retain their own fiction about my being a dictator, my anti-Chinese feelings and my being corrupt and favouring my cronies”…….” Before I stepped down the Chinese electorate ensured that I got the 2/3 majority in 1999, the last election over which I presided.”

Malaysians answered: Chinese Malaysians believed that no matter how bad discrimination and marginalisation policies created by ex-PM, Tun against the chinese education, employment and businesses opportunitied in Malaysia, the Chinese Malaysians appreciated Tun contribution and sacrifice towards the nation and taught many Chinese Malaysians to become more independent, study smart, work hard, willing to take the challenges and dont depends on the govt to feed them. The Chinese Malaysians hated MCA more than Tun since MCA leaders failed their duties to protect and voice out for the Chinese communities but too doggy and afraid of UMNO croonies until today.

Tun Dr M said: “All these things were possible when I was President of UMNO and Prime Minister. But the moment I stepped down I was not allowed to meet UMNO Ministers and other UMNO leaders and they were not allowed to meet me or attend any function where I spoke. This remains the directive to this day.”

Malaysians answered: A Malay proverb saying, ” Kacang lupakan Kulit” is the right sentence to realise Tun Dr M. When those UMNO goonies and croonies found out Tun M was a retired PM was similar to useless and hopeless UMNO old horse that cannot continued to feed them with billions of mega projects in govt and huge corrupt money in UMNO. Then, many lies, criticisms and false tears from his past UMNO croonies and goonies came out to discredit and bar Tun from meeting the people, decline his invitations and keep his big mouth shut up. Now the BN apologists are too dependence on the Old Tongkat Ali system to beg Pak Lah and to grant them with more billions corridors’ mega projects.

Tun Dr M said : “This argument that I was worse than Dato Abdullah will be trotted out every time I criticise or point out the authoritarianism of the Abdullah regime. If people are so blind as not to see who is the dictator and who is not, it is their right. But when you deliberately ignore the truth you will lose credibility. That is why today very few read the Government controlled mainstream newspapers or watch the news reports on Government controlled television. Blogs have replaced the conventional media as sources of information.”

Malaysians answered: Ha! Ha! Ha! Now Tun Dr M has tasted his own bitter medicines created by him and taught his successor to do the same tactics on him. Malaysians have suffered for past 50 years from all the lies and false news in the media controlled by BN croonies and without press freedom. Why Tun Dr M is crying over his spilt milk of press freedom ? What a shame ?

Tun Dr M said “That is why I have taken to blogging. The number of visitors I get (three million in two months) and the comments they make tell the true story about how the people really feel. To a huge majority of these people I am not a dictator. For me that counts.”

Malaysians answered: Shit ! Pak Lah govt is going to shut down all cybercafes at midnight to deter the young people especially the poor Malays and people in villages from blogging to support Pakatan Rakyat, LKS and Che Det’ blogs. What’s the “F” for a 4th class IT mentality and sleepy top Guy is doing? The world IT buddies are very unhappy with our silly and stupid BN arrogant leaders to stop our young generations to master IT in cybercafes and chit-chat with their friends worldwide. Now who is the real DICTATOR PM in Malaysia ?

Last cried by Tun Dr M shouted loudly : “The (BN/UMNO) apologists will go on repeating the old cliché but it will get them nowhere. Clearly people just don’t believe.”

    MALAYSIANS ANSWERED :

YES TUN DR M.!! YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT THAT ALL MALAYSIAN PEOPLE SHALL NEVER EVER TRUST AND DONT BELIEVE WHAT BN CROONIES ARE SAYING OR ACTING IN THEIR SANDIWARA PLAYS TO DECEIVE THE PEOPLE BY RAISING THE PRICES OF FOOD, FUEL AND SERVICES. LET ALL MALAYSIANS BECOME POORER BUT LET BN CROONIES BECOME RICHEST FROM ALL NEGOTIATED BILLIONS TENDERS AND SUCKING THE TAXPAYERS’ MONIES, CAUSING THE SHARES TO SELLDOWN, ABUSE OF POWER, POOR GOVERNANCE, HIGH CRIME RATES AND MANY HARDCORE POOR MALAYSIANS ARE SELLING THEIR ORGANS AND BLOOD TO FEED THEIR FAMILIES SOON.

“PLEASE STOP ALL BAD POLITICAL PLAYS TODAYAND DO A GOOD GOVERNANCE JOB TO REDUCE INFLATION, ENHANCE JOBS MARKET, REDUCE CRIME RATE AND SHUT UP..JUST DO IT ! ……cried a poor jobless father of 6 children and a sick wife.

    PROTEST ! PROTEST ! PROTEST !

MALAYSIANS/SABAHANS HAVE LOSS OF CONFIDENCE IN SAPP LEADERS WHEN SAPP DROPS NO-CONFIDENC MOTION!

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !

STOP PLAYING POLITICAL WAYANG KULIT IN SABAH.
DO YOU JOBS AS SAPP MPS AND ADUNS TO SERVE ALL SABAHANS TODAY.

MALAYSIANS HAVE “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" FROM BOTH SIDES - WAR OF WORDS - FROM BN CROONIES / GOONIES VERSUS SAPP LEADERS AND PAKATAN KETUANAN RAKYAT LEADERS.

  15. My goodness, what exactly SAPP's doing? yesterday said drops no-confidence motion and today said remains firm on no-confidence. Did you guys learned from the famous private investigator P Balasubramaniam? in order to save your party dignity i would suggest SAPP stands for its decision and don't try to manipulate the ppl that stand behind you.

In a bad scenario, as if BN kicks your party out and i do believe the future of SAPP will becomes brighter and all Malaysian will recognize your party not just because you fight for Sabah ppl rights and also listen the ppl voices too. Unlike party like MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc. not so much future for them anymore.

Rambutan is history as far as Sabah politics and Au being his machai should be gone case.

If sapp is sacked from BN, it is good sign for sapp to pursue sabah's demands.

  26. 'No-faith motion meant to press for better deal'
Kota Kinabalu: YONG also took a swipe at the Federal leadership's carrot-and-stick tactic to attempt to subdue state leaders who dared to stand up against the Federal government for what he described as "mistreating Sabah and its people".

"First they give us a Senatorship and when it was turned down, they come up with the Special Envoy to BIMP-EAGA and when it was again turned down, they immediately sent in the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA)," he said.

Touching on the goodies for Sabah announced by the PM last month, including the additional RM1 million development fund for each MP, Yong said the no-confidence motion against Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to be proposed by its two MPs was to press for a better deal and treatment for Sabah.

Citing Section 4 of the Petroleum Development Act 1974 which clearly stipulates that oil royalties can be reviewed, he asserted that the people of Sabah should not feel shy or guilty about demanding an increase in oil royalties from five per cent to 20 per cent.

"Without our oil reserve there won't be Petronas in Sabah today.

Furthermore they are selling our oil back to us at a higher price when the prices of fuel in Brunei are only half our fuel price."

He noted that like in the case of BN, if not because of Sabah Petronas could have been administered by others today and not BN or Umno.

"Is it not reasonable for us to ask about the delegation of powers to the State authority? And bear in mind that as of March this year, Petronas made a profit of RM90 billion. Our fuel subsidy is only RM13.7 billion so where has the rest of the money gone?"

He also questioned whether there is a member from Sabah in the National Petroleum Advisory Council as allowed for under Section 5 of the said Act and, if so, who is this particular individual.

"SAPP will closely pursue this and other issues of interests to the people," he stressed. Touching on issue of political autonomy, Yong said by right the people of Sabah should have a full say in determining their elected representatives (YBs) including the Chief Minister.

Unfortunately, under the present setting, a majority of these positions were secured through extensive lobbying and public relations (PR) exercise at the Federal level, including showering the Federal leadership with all kinds of gifts and gestures.

"I'm really ashamed and disgusted to witness all these. Where is our pride and dignity?" he asked. "After the last general election, power must be returned to the people of Sabah. If the people of Terengganu and Perlis can determine the candidates for their Chief Ministers why can't Sabah?

"We in Sabah should be allowed to elect our own Chief Minister, one who is more willing to fight for the interests of the State and its people," he stressed.

He noted that the replacement of the former Menteri Besar of Terengganu Datuk Idris Jusoh was due to the fact that during his tenure he failed to fight for the return of the five per cent oil royalties to the State.

"Now, the current Menteri Besar of Terengganu Datuk Ahmad Said who is duly elected by the people has succeeded in claiming back the 5 per cent oil royalties. Hence, we in Sabah also should have a Chief Minister who is truly elected by the people," he stressed.

Yong also touched on the issue of unfair policies and economic imbalances affecting Sabah including paying higher prices for controlled items like rice.

"For the past 12 years, Sabah subsidised Bernas RM200 million per year, equivalent to every family including illegal immigrants paying RM1 per day to Bernas. The same thing in Sarawak. All this was due to the rice monopoly by Bernas," he lambasted.

He also noted that most of the business licences and permits are being issued at Federal level, thus incurring a higher cost of doing business in Sabah and Sarawak.

Also present were SAPP's deputy presidents, Datuk Liew Teck Chan, Datuk Eric Majimbun, its vice president Datuk Dr Chua Soon Bui, its Treasurer-general Datuk Wong Yit Ming, its Wanita Chief Melanie Chia, its Advisers Datuk Lee Sen, Datuk Paul Wong and Datuk Yeoh Kai Seng, and Datuk Philip Yong Chiew Lip among others.

  29. While waiting for the right moment to deliver a stunting blow with a vote of no confidence, SAPP can also explore other means to expose the don't care attitude of BN towards Sabah. They want our wealth and natural resources but in turn give us peanuts. You have shock them, they are like dogs scared by a lightning bolt. syabs SAPP! The true sons of Sabah who are so different from earth worms like pairin and v k liew.

  30. SAPP is already "sapped" or destroyed by its own indecisiveness and disunity. BN might tolerate or "forgive" you for your wrong doings if you can keep growing the momentum like before to the size that BN just can not ignore you, even for one moment. You could have announced it in a more dignity way than asking "Dr" Chua Soon Buei to release a "decision" without good explanation. Sabahan wants an independent local party with strong leadership now. (Where's Annifah now?) It's better that you ask to leave than waiting for them to "fire" you. DON'T join PR, they are West Malaysian party who does not understand East Malaysians at all. Look at you now, you always have to see the reaction of your "fellow" BN components who only put Semenenjung's interest first before Sabah.

  31. YTL & SAPP,

Stay neutral and focusing on Sabah alone and you'll shine. Sabahan don't trust other parties especially those from the west. Sabahan should unite under SAPP which can bring us out of the economic stalemate and political mess, provided YTL and SAPP don’t turn out to be a great disappointment to the people like the recent flip-flopping events.

  32. we Sabahan MUST do something....in the 70's & 80's all timber gone...90's and early 2000's all crude oil gone..by than what can Sabah export...PTI????..or may be real Anak Sabah will be EXPORT by the PTI as they are the majority!!!

  33. Reporsted from the following thread:

    "蔡顺梅斥《星报》封面报道错误"
    =================================
    joe said:
    声明更指一名巫统资深领袖告知杨德利,若进步党继续推动不信任动议,将被视为一个华人政党企图对抗马来领导,尽管进步党是一个多元种族政党。

    Translation:
The clarification especially pointed out that one UMNO senior leader told Yong Tek Lee that if SAPP continued its no-confidence motion, then it will be regarded as a Chinese political party attempting to oppose the Malay leadership - even though SAPP is a multiracial party.
    ------------------------
The very fact that a senior UMNO leader dared to threaten YTL is a gross violation of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Where in UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights is it written that all races within any country must submit to the leadership of a single race? The truth is the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights specifically declared that all people are allowed to participate equally in the governance of a country.

    Article 21(1), 2 and 7 state:

    "Article 21.
    (1) Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives."

    "Article 2.
Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status."

    "Article 7.
All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination."

From the above three articles it is obvious that all peoples of Malaysia regardless of race or national origin or religion have the equal right to participate in the governance of Malaysia. Malaysia is not an empire of the Malays such that only the Malays have the right to decide what policies to implement. It is heinous and loathsome that the Malays have come to acquire the mentality that they are the sole owners of Malaysia and that they have the right to intimidate other races into submitting to their tyranny.

Such gross violation of the letter and spirit of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights are heinous and loathsome. The leaders of SAPP and other political parties such as DAP must immediately communicate this gross violation of the letter and spirit of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights to the UN Secretary General and ask for his condemnation of this unacceptable violation of human rights.

The non-Malay Malaysian peoples should not accept such intimidation as if though the Malays have the right to force the other races to accept their tyranny based on the threat of bloody massacres or the dogma of ketuanan Melayu. Ketuanan Melayu is itself a gross and loathsome violation of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and have no place in the civilized world.

Furthermore, the Malays are nothing more than a bunch of thugs who are only "brave" enough to terrorize defenceless peoples. Anybody who is willing to defend themselves can easily defeat them in an open war. The Malays had never fought the Japanese or the Brits. It was the Chinese who had fought them. And they fought with great courage and success. But the fruits of their fight were stolen by the Malays. Now it is time for the Chinese and the KDM to unite and fight a new war to liberate themselves from the Malay reign of terror for their own sake and for the sake of their children and grandchildren.

If the Malays are willing to share Malaysia equally with all other races according to UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, then there is still hope for Malaysia to be a harmonious place for all to live and prosper in. If not, then it is the rightful and courageous thing and the UN mandated thing for the Sabah peoples to take Sabah out of Malaysia and either be independent or join with Singapore for their own security and prosperity.

Below is an exerpt from the Preamble of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights:

"Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,"

It is obvious that UN upholds the right of all peoples to rebel against tyranny and oppression as a last resort.

PM to declare no contest for Umno top 2

"Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is widely speculated to announce that there will be no contest for the top two positions in Umno after its supreme council meeting this afternoon".

What is this! I thought the Umno general assembly can only decide this. Don't tell me a bunch of Supreme councillors can overule the whole umno election process????? they forgot that they were elected by the members.

Stupid Paklah, pigi tidur lagi bah!

  36. Two more years for Paklah to make some quick billions as PM.

    Sabah will suffer further then.

Get him out and put a better credible leader to run the country, and not Najib lah.

I still think to give PR's Anwar a 5-year mandate to see if he can run better.
