Why No Royal Commission of Inquiry on Illegals?

Kota Kinabalu, Friday, 7 January 2011: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President, Datuk Yong Teck Lee, said the Prime Minister should also consider a Royal Commission of Inquiry on illegal immigration in Sabah.

"The Prime Minister has today announced the setting up of a Royal Commission to investigate the Teoh Beng Hock case in view of the inconclusive verdict of the coroner after the inquest.
"Everyone in Sabah is asking, how about a Royal Commission of Inquiry on the illegal immigration and the issuance of mykads to illegals in Sabah and the threat to national security?

"In the last few years, there have been the Royal Commission on the Police (2004), Royal Commission of Inquiry on the nude ear squat video clip of a woman (2005) and even the lawyer Lingam video clip (2007).

Surely, the illegal immigrant crisis, dubbed the Mother of All Threats, is equally, if not more, deserving of a Royal Commission of Inquiry? SAPP and some other political parties have repeatedly voiced demands for a royal commission. SAPP's MPs similarly have voiced the same in Parliament.

"SAPP calls on the federal Cabinet, which consists of four full ministers from Sabah, to immediately push for a Royal Commission on illegal immigration in Sabah.

"BN component party PBS has last year given a dateline 2012 to finally resolve the illegal immigration crisis in Sabah. PBS MPs and its leaders in the Sabah cabinet must similarly make a clear and unequivocal stand for the BN administration to form a Royal Commission and to resolve the illegal immigrant crisis without any further delay.

"In spite of repeated assurances by both state and federal ministers to tackle the illegal immigration crisis in Sabah, the illegals situation in Sabah has gone from bad to worse. What are our government leaders waiting for?

  1. Never will BN agree to a RCI on illegals which they are protecting.

This matter should be brought to the World Court where justice will be heard, but first we need to change the state government of Sabah..and the Federal govt if possible.
