Autonomy will be granted to Sabah when Pakatan Rakyat comes to power, the top leaders of the opposition coalition promised yesterday, the eve of Malaysia Day.
Anwar Ibrahim followed by Lim Kit Siang and Nasharudin Mat Isa of PKR, DAP and PAS respectively also pledged to grant Sabah political independence during a special gathering here to formally launch Pakatan Sabah, the opposition coalition.
I think SAPP welcomes such a PROMISE, but I need to ask how about the Parties under Pakatan, are they also having their 'autonomy' ie. to elect their own leader instead of being appointed by the central leadership? If these posts are appointed ones, then it defeats the purpose of being having 'autonomy' which is I deemed as only window-dressing.
Apparently , It is not the question of whether autonomy will be granted or not. What SAPP should now is , to be very careful with empty promises given by the West Malaysian political parties.
ReplyDeleteAs I see it , SAPP is the only local party that Sabahan could rely and depended on , well . . . after PBS has become the crony of UMONO .
I think we fight first and later decide with the coalition or whatever . . . .
Don't believe with the any party give the sweet promise. Is just a trick to achieve their goal to win the election coming soon. What the important here, we can think who the best for your all. So do not be fooled with the sweet word or promise from someone. Believe with you self to make the choice.
ReplyDeleteSomeone smart trying to test the temperature here!!!
ReplyDeleteToo sad this could have done in 308 never repeat a mistake of any again as BN is watching at all times!
PR want to make sabah autonomy if they win in Sabah. For me, it no problem who win in sabah. But don't promise if just to attract people to vote you. For me BN is more better than PR. So, Support Barisan Nasional.
ReplyDelete'promise' is a must for politicians. giving a promise is easy than giving some action, but it will not be effective forever... There will be no guarantee even how many promises has been thrown.
ReplyDeleteAutonomy can be real as we look at other countries near us as Macau, Hongkong, Mindanao etc.
ReplyDeleteIn Sabah, we need to have a credible party. From what I see the Pakatan parties here are huru-hara...they are actually leaderless and directionless.
The more organised and disciplined party is no doubt SAPP and SAPP needs to lead the State, while Pakatan here can play their supporting roles.
Promise? What does promise means in these current times when even the 20 Points Agreement signed between Sabah and Malaya can be neglected, disregard and dishonored by the federal government?
ReplyDeleteThe lesson is you don't put all your eggs into one basket, be it BN or PR!
Whatever just need to walk the talk.
ReplyDeleteOut there many feel hopeless since after years and too much politiking!
Sabahans never got the promises from UMNO and voted them into power over and over again. This time vote for change, give PKR a chance and if they not perform, give them the kick out next election.
ReplyDeleteBetter, make SAPP the strongest party in Sabah and then they can rule the land again. Sabah belongs to Sabahans and not to Putrajaya!
But if you do not vote for change then you have lost your right to complain in the future! Keep your kids in mind!!!
Yeah, I do have in mind that if maybe we give chance to the opposition to show what they have for a while, then if its not as what they have been promising before we can just kick them out on the next election.
ReplyDeleteSometimes our current party now became very 'manja' after each big winning election. (and of course, some of the manifestos turned 'bangas')
However, with all the troublesome happened in between themselves, how can we believe them to rule a big state full of our own natural resources? Are their going to siphon it back to us? Is there a positive, or even a worst change?
We, Sabahans, remember. We, have the full access to choose the next leader. Think wisely.
I can only see the Sabah future with Sabahan party SAPP.
ReplyDeleteThe rests like BN and PR can GET LOST from Sabah!
New UMNO voters???
