Sabah illegals problem a national problem

For over 30 years Sabah have been telling the federal leaders about the illegal immigrant problems in the state. It fell on deaf ears. For reasons best known to these federal leaders especially those from Umno.
However, Sabahans know very well why the Umno-led BN refused to address this problem. Ask any Sabahans and they'll tell you:
    1. Many of the illegals are Filipino Muslims from the rebellious Mindanao region and Umno needs them to 'check and balance' the voice of independent and democratic Sabahan Malaysians. This to ensure there will never be another non-Umno (read Muslim) chief minister for Sabah.
    2. Umno needs these illegals to remain in power in Sabah (read federal colonisation ).
Sabahans have long know that Umno - especially under ex-premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad - 'encouraged' these illegals to settle in Sabah. Sabahans know about the Project M to recruit them as voters, especially those from Mindanao. And voted for Umno/BN they did.
Sabahans know many of these illegals now have MyKads and bumiputera status, the same as we Sabahans who are sons and daughters of the soil (natives).
Most Sabahans hate the federal government’s policy of ruling Sabah with its iron fist. Especially when it set up the State Federal Development Department (established during the then opposition Parti Bersatu Sabah government’s tenure) which controls federal funds for Sabah. Just like what happened in Terengganu under PAS.
For this and the host of problems that the Umno-led BN government caused to Sabah especially in refusing to seriously deal the illegals problem, most Sabahans no doubt voted against BN in the last general elections.
But Sabahans know that it was never our call. Why? Because the Sabah electoral roll is littered with illegal voters under the Project M These voters, planted by dirty politicians, were making the call. And so will be in the future too.
The illegals problem in Sabah is not a Sabah problem alone. It is a Malaysian problem. Today, these illegals dictate the Sabah state government. Tomorrow, it will be the Malaysian government. For their numbers in Sabah are too numerous and of greater concern is the way they can easily obtain citizenship and MyKads.
A royal commission of inquiry is welcome but is that what Sabah needs? Beside, can we trust the federal Government to act on the commission’s recommendations when so far previous royal commissions’ findings have remained just that - findings with no action taken.
But what every Sabahan Malaysian doesn't understand is why Malaysians, especially the leaders, fail to see that the illegals in Sabah as a threat to the security of our country.
What Sabahans want to know is why Malaysians are treating this as ‘a Sabah problem’ when these MyKad-equipped illegals are robbing their rights as citizens.
What Sabahans want to know is why the lack of action from the federal government to investigate the people behind this treason.

  2. Disappointing, says Eng Leong
Kota Kinabalu: The rejection of the motion for the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry on Sabah Illegal Immigrants in Parliament on Thursday is disappointing, said Parti Bersatu Sabah Supreme Council member, Dr Chong Eng Leong.

He said the motion should have been allowed and supported by the Sabah MPs because "it is not anti-Barisan Nasional nor pro Pakatan Rakyat but a matter of defending the sovereignty of Sabah within Malaysia".

In a statement, Friday, Dr Chong said the counter proposal by Datuk Anifah Aman to set up the Parliamentary Select Committee to solve Sabah problems might not succeed.

This was based on past experience like the committee chaired by Tan Sri Bernard Dompok "when there was a directive from the higher-ups not to cooperate", he said.

"So what guarantee can we get that the issue will be solved? We have experienced before that the Parliamentary Select Committee (on Integrity) did not work so why not just go for the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI)," he asked.

He said now that Sabah and Sarawak appear to be keeping the Barisan Nasional government from collapsing they should be brave enough to expose the Project IC.

"Aren't we all patriotic to Malaysia? To solve this we need strong political will starting from the State Government. PBS has two State Cabinet members both of whom were very local when in opposition.

"Can't they reason with (Chief Minister) Datuk Seri Musa Aman on this?

What is there to hide? Then reason with the Prime Minister," he said.

"We took part in the formation of Malaysia primarily to safeguard security and sovereignty. Who shall be the next Prime Minister to solve Sabah's woe if the present one is still procrastinating?" he asked.

Dr Chong said just after the election Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had stated he had heard what the people wanted him to hear.

"Perhaps, he had heard Sabah's voice also but his heart is not with us. The Prime Minister's only concern is the peninsula. I don't believe he would do anything concrete to solve this.

"We must make sure the next Prime Minister has the will to help us," he said.

  3. Do u think we are one people yet? There'are a lot of differences between east & west malaysians. Selfishness did and do continue exist unless the regional political parties or peoples speak up vocally.

  4. Top of the morning to you...Very interesting comments.I believe you have to search deeper in the Halls of Putrajaya for the real reason why the leaders don't seem to care...

  5. “ The Irish Lesson….”

The Federal leaders don't care because the problem is not at their front yard. To them, it is sooooooo far (ocean apart) that there is no possibility of these foreigners posing a threat to them.

These so called leaders would rather fight for "brothers" the other side of the globe, but when it comes to us in Sabah, forget it....

Sabah (and Sarawak, for that matter) is like the proverbial dairy cow. As long they are producing milk, keep them but since they contracted this disease aka "PTI", why waste money to treat them, let them die, so another herd of similar (to them) breed can take these indigenous Sabah cows’ place.

Dr Chong is opening Sabahans eyes, by challenging his own Party leaders, others will see that the worse kind of leaders are those who pretend to stand up for our rights but are doing otherwise. His other leader in the Federal cabinet has also kept mum on this subject....No wonder the UMNO leaders find it easy to manipulate Sabah leaders.

When will the people of Sabah realise the much talked-about "divide and rule" as well as the "dilute influence" policies has worked particularly well in Sabah. Creating factions within a group may it be by race or religion has been used by conquerors around the world since time immemorial. The Romans did it to contain their subjects in check in the occupied states, as did the Chinese emperors. To trick is to create infighting and up to a level that the group forgets about the real conquerors. These conquerors / masters will the sap all the resources dry and just leave. By then, the hurt amongst the infighting people is just too much that peace is no longer a solution. The occupied state will then be split up to smaller states according to indigenous and/or religious groups. This will happen to Sabah...So wake up, Sabahans...

The other practice of diluting influence is rather new...Well, in these parts, anyway... The nearest case in history that comes to mind is the Irish debacle. The English decided that the Irish (who were predominantly Catholics) were too problematic. Mass genocide was not an option for fear of reprisal from Spain, Portugal, France and other Catholic countries. So, they confiscated land from the Irish and redistributed them to English and even Scottish (Protestants) allies. The mass migration that followed diluted the Irish influence in their own land. The infighting continued between the two Christian denominations for a few hundred years. Now, the question is can it happen to Sabah? Can you imagine if this happened to Sabah?

KOTA KINABALU: A Royal Commission of Inquiry on the presence of illegal immigrants in Sabah is only one of the options available to try and resolve the issue.

But it does not guarantee that the problem would be resolved, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman.

“Any option taken must meet its intended objective which is to get rid of illegal immigrants from the state.

“Any approach taken must also be sincere in nature, not merely as a tool for the opposition to gain political mileage,” he said after chairing the state cabinet meeting at Wisma Innoprise yesterday.

  7. By the time we manage to have the royal commission of Inquiry (RCI), the oil in Sabah has already gone. We need immediate action now (with positive results) as well as the RCI simultaneously. The RCI has been the discussion point for years, who care to listen? Opposition is very interested because it's a political asset. The government doesn’t like it because it's a liability that they have been trying to evade as much as possible. Peoples are the victims who suffer the pains of misdeeds.

Thank you for sharing us "The Irish Lesson...."
History has plenty of lessons for us to learn from.
We heed your concerns and share your anxieties.
We shall work harder for the future of Sabah in Malaysia.

  9. Possible petition to British gov't from Sabahans
    Tony Thien | Jun 2, 08 4:17pm
A Sabah group is taking a page from Hindraf's book - it is seriously considering petitioning the British government on the situation of illegal migrants in the state.

Having seen their proposal for a royal commission to probe the issue of illegal immigrants in the state rebuffed by BN lawmakers, they are exploring the possibility of filing a petition to Britain through the Commonwealth office.

  10. Oi!...All Sabahan Politicians must act on this together at the current situation made your stand and show your strenght now..

  11. Leave BN if the issue is not resolve. No point promise this and that. If the illegal immigrant issue is still drag on, there is no political future for Sabahan. Want Sabah based political parties to continue support Badawi, solve the problem first!

  12. I was sort of expecting SAPP taking the crucial first step in triggering a political domino effect by walking out of BN!

Hoop la! Dr Chong Eng Leong fired that first shot!

  13. Funny la sabah people nie. All states in Malaysia have immigrants. Somehow Sabah is the worst. What does that mean? It means your own leaders don't really care about your own states. They are busy what goes into their pocket. Now it becomes really problematic and your leaders expect others to help your state. Can help but why are you politizing this issues? other state got same problem what.... Then you would go and say somethng like 'SAbah illegals problem a national problem' ... you leaders did not take care of your own state and now lepas tangan and say it's a national problem. That show's what kind of sabah leaders you have. But the best part, you seek help and yet, you cannot wait... then go all around and politizing the issue. waaaahhh!! great la sabah people... Problem accumulated years and you expect goverment to solve in what? 1 month? 2 month? 6 month? 1 year?... Even better, if not solve or there is no concrete solution from governement, we ought to move out from coalition. best betul la... you created your own problem, and you don't know how to solve, and then you ask help, then you threaten back... fuh!!! oh ya, nasib baik anwar adakan.. dia ka bijak... tapi tak pulak dengar kalau join PKR, dalam masa setahun PKR akan solve problem immigant korang... at least some concrete plan pun dah cukup la... tak nampak jugak pun... oooo lupe lak, kalu masuk PKR, dapat duit poket sikit dak.... pasal nak mintak PM, mane dapat, dia nie asyik anti-rasuah aje...

u can say wad u like bout our probs since u're not really knowing bout it. as you can see from the 1st post by joe, we've been trying to solve this prob for 30 years and what do we get? yes other states do having the same prob but the MYKAD and BUMIPUTERA STATUS? that's a whole different story. you say we ask for help yet we cannot wait? 30 years dude we waited and what do we get? about joining PKR? did we even mention that? in fact who helped BN to win this time election? how many seats BN won in sabah? ask yourself.

  16. That's true..BN have taken control of Sabah for so many years and yet nothing has been done for the people..
Illegal immigrants are everywhere without control, now they are already like part of the community, but constantly creating crimes and problems.
our oil! we produce part of the petroleum in Malaysia and yet Sabah has to suffer the price hike as well!we're suffering from all kinds of problem... BRING BN DOWN!

  17. Wow! 30 years cannot solve? pity...

Okay, no wonder cannot solve, because you wait and no action. You do then there is action. That's no rocket science.

  18. Haiyo, BN is just a means... it's not the end. The ends are Sabah's party. No umno, no mic, no mca, no pkr and no pas. if there is such party, the leaders are still Malaysian Sabahan... That means Malaysian Sabahan leaders are controlling Sabahan people... Now Malaysian Sabahan people, got problem, then Malaysian Sabahan leaders la at fault. Bcoz, they failed to use the means. In fact, for 30 years they failed to do it.
    Bcoz, they waited only...

Look at Kelantan, their leaders didn't wait... they did something, pass or fail, they embrace it.

  21. As a west Malaysian, majority of Sabahan had wrongly believed that Malaysians do not care about our brother n sister of east Malaysia, the policy of federal government is formulated to suit umno racist agenda, not Malaysia, so whatever hardships faced by Sabah or Sarawak shouldn't be confused as Malaysian policy as many opposition voices are in the lock up under ISA in west Malaysia's labor camp.

Illegal aliens and unfair oil royalty contribution are solely umno ideal way to control the state forever.

  26. 'Massive op' to flush out Sabah's illegal immigrants

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government will launch a "massive operation' against illegal immigrants in Sabah soon, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Wednesday.

He said all foreign nationals without identification documents issued by their own countries or by Malaysia's Immigration Department would be deported.

Speaking to reporters after chairing a Cabinet committee meeting on illegal immigrants in Sabah, he said he would meet with with Barisan Nasional leaders of the start before the operation gets under way.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the Government realised that illegal immigrants had become a serious problem and that the people in Sabah wanted it to be resolved effectively.

The big question is...when will this happen?
Into which country if they have no papers??? To Peninsular Malaysia?? This would help!!!

  27. I believe this operation.. is just a "show" for us Sabahan. Even in the past, when it was voice out... ok... the best the government do... is to detain.. n sent LESS THAN 1 Million of these people back ???

BUT HELLO ~ ~ Orang Semenanjung... berapa PTI di Sabah?? Sent juz a small % back ... and the operation ceased.

when Sabahan ask, WHY ONLY SO FEW ARE DEPEARTED??? And they will asnwer this way ---> We send back those without documents...

CRAP!! What about those who get their IC through backdoor?? Those they will say.. no such thing.. or even if there's ... they will say...cant deny their right now... they are citizen now.. juz recent, a west malaysia minister said so... so... now and then... they are part of Sabahan.. have IC and the code is same with us Sabahan.. "Code 12" in IC

Thanks to the federal government.. now that a lot PTI are same with us Sabahan... "IC Code 12" ..

Decades ago, we have already highlighted the PTI Issues... but federal government take no action.. and now.. a minister from there.. said" cant question their right... since citizenship has been granted!!!!"

Once again... thanks to Federal Government for this!! Not forgetting the voters that voted for BN... what 1 of the anonymous said was right ---->
