Housing Development Act should not be extended to Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Extending the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Act to Sabah will be another erosion of the state's autonomy, said Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Vice President, Datuk Wong Yit Ming.

He said the proposal by DAP Kota Kinabalu MP Hiew King Cheu for the Act, which was recently amended in the Parliament, to be extended to Sabah as well did not merit consideration because Sabah already has its own Enactment that had successfully curbed abandoned housing development.

KOTA KINABALU, Jan 10, 2011: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) said it is time for political leaders in Sabah who only care about their own interest but not the electorates to go.

President Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee said this was among the reasons many of the people problems remained unresolved until today.
He said the political leaders in Sabah, especially from the Barisan Nasional (BN) also did not dare to voice out for the people and asked for the rights of Sabah to be returned because they fear Kuala Lumpur.

Isu Tanah agenda utama SAPP

Kota Marudu: Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) akan melaksanakan reformasi tanah apabila mengambil alih pentadbiran Kerajaan Negeri Sabah selepas memenangi pilihanraya umum kali ke-13 akan datang.

Presiden SAPP Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee berkata, melalui reformasi itu, tanah pertanian hanya diberikan kepada penduduk tempatan saja dan tidak akan dipajakkan lagi kepada syarikat swasta terutamanya dari Semenanjung.

Katanya, pajakan tanah sesebuah syarikat swasta itu tidak akan disambung apabila tamat manakala tanah itu akan diberi kepada rakyat.

BN no sincerity on illegal immigrants problem

Kota Kinabalu, July 22, 2010: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Secretary-General Datuk Richard Yong We Kong today said the BN government which ruled Sabah for the last 16 years had all along shown no sincerity in helping Sabah resolve the illegal immigrants problem.

He said this when commenting on the Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin who said, "perhaps, this was the first time the issue of illegal immigrants in Sabah being looked at in holistic manner..." therefore suggesting that the Federal Government had never look at this problem seriously before.

"In fact the Federal and State Government had got all the information and data concerning the issues. As far back as during PBS's time as state government an amnesty exercise had been carried out and data on the immigrants had been collected.

"During BN regularization exercise the National Security Council has had the Indonesian Consulate setting up offices in various parts of Sabah to help process documents for the Indonesian to facilitate them in getting work permits. At the time the consulate officers from the Philippines Embassy were posted to Sabah to process documents for their citizens. The National Security Council help implemented the exercise and is having all the documents and data with them.

A Review of State-Federal Relations is timely

Kota Kinabalu, Tuesday, 25 May 2010: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President, Datuk Yong Teck Lee today said that the debate whether Sabah is one of three equal partners or one of thirteen states in Malaysia shows that a review of the State and Federal relationship is relevant and timely.

"SAPP will push for a review in line with SAPP's 8-Points struggle for autonomy and the return of Labuan .

Since independence, has Sabah been accorded the equal PARTNERSHIP in Malaysia? Previous Sabah leaders could not be blamed on the power-play by the Malayans becos we (Sabahans) were less 'educated' or duped by "promises" of benefits to the local populace.

PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY FOR SABAH!!?!!?

On 8 November 2008, it was reported that Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Bernard Dompok had said that the Federal Government in their cabinet meeting agreed that a full-fledged petrochemical industry would be set up in the state using natural gas obtained from Sabah.

Subsequently, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman hailed the decision of the Federal Government to set up a petrochemical industry in the State, saying it augurs well for the Sabah Development Corridor plan.

This has prompted Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Husin to jump on the bandwagon saying it is a privilege the people in Sabah should enjoy given its natural resources.

The interesting thing is that only excess gas will be piped to Bintulu.

"She asked the officer why it was red and the lady officer said for senior citizens who lost their IC, the department normally replaced them with red ICs?"

So she will be deprived of her citizenship and the right to vote. What is happening here?

Convention on Sabah Issues

Convention on Sabah Issues (Konvensyen isu-isu Sabah) organised by SAPP was held on 30 August 2008 attended by over a thousand people. Panel of invited speakers were Datuk Harris Salleh, Tan Sri Simon Sipaun and Amde Sidik.

Among the topics covered included illegal immigrants problem, illegal foreign workers, land scam, Labuan, economic disparities, oil royalty, racism, corruption...mostly related to SAPP's 8 declarations/points and more...

Harris calls on Federal Government to give Sabah more autonomy

The Federation of Malaysia which was formed 44 years ago is now confronted with political and economic uncertainties over the last few years. This began in the late eighties, and had got worse as the days go by. The Federal Government is less transparent, while at the same time is it is has become more and more autocratic and monopolistic on policies and being carried away. Indeed, it is sadly no more what was envisaged as a democratic country - as propounded by Abraham Lincoln. The Federal Government, however. has become in practice the government, Malaysia is doomed to be a failed country.
