Is Perkasa an Umno tool?

Perkasa's infamous racist, Ibrahim Ali, calling on the government to revoke the citizenship of other races had obviously tried to invoke or to ignite racial tensions in West Malaysia.

Is there something up this bigot's sleeve for raising such a sensitive issue?

Time and again, history had shown that BN's strategy of re-uniting the Malays was to create animosity amongst the races and in order to achieve that ... look for scapegoats.

Previously, MCA and MIC were too timid ever to raise their voices against the might of Umno. They have neither dignity nor guts to fight for their own races and that is why they lost terribly in the 2008 general elections.

1Malaysia Crap

"I am Malay first, but being Malay doesn't mean I am not Malaysian," said Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

He was responding to DAP leader Lim Kit Siang's challenge earlier today for him to state whether he is a Malay or a Malaysian first.

"He doesn't understand (what) the meaning of the concept of 1Malaysia is all about," Muhyiddin told a press conference in the Parliament lobby this afternoon.

So can Muhyiddin explain what is actually 1Malaysia or is it just crap!

Pakatan and Hudud

Pas vice president,Husam Musa, was took to task by Dap Lim Kit Siang for reiterating Pas' plan to implement Islamic hudud laws should they succeed taking over the federal government.

Hudud refers to the punishments that are fixed for certain offences including theft, robbery, illicit sex, alcohol consumption and apostasy. Punishment for these offences are corporal in nature, involving whipping, stoning to death and amputation of limbs. What you say?

When do "Malaysians" learn?

Six staff bodies of state agency Selangor Development Corporation (PKNS) have objected to the appointment of a senior official as acting general manager on grounds that she is Chinese.

Pas, a member of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition government in Selangor, is unhappy with the appointment of Low Siew Moi as acting head of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).

Zaid attacks race politics
Amid widespread speculation over his political future, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim has criticised his own party Umno for contributing to race relations problems.
He also urged Umno to engender a more fair-minded administration, and lead the Malays towards having better race relations with non-Malays.

Speaking to the mass-circulation Chinese-language Sin Chew Daily in his most extensive interview since resigning as a member of the Cabinet recently, Zaid also called for more open debates over "sensitive issues”.

Umno Youth questioned the “deafening silence”

KOTA KINABALU: Umno Youth questioned the “deafening silence” of the Bar Council, NGOs and also bloggers over plans by Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s plan to woo Barisan Nasional MPs into Pakatan Rakyat.

Umno Youth secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said these groups who claimed to be defending the rights of the people are remaining silent over Anwar’s move to engineer defections that are undemocratic and an act of stealing the mandate of the people.

Abdul Rahman cautioned that Anwar’s planned “backdoor” grabbing of power will only destabilise the country and cause serious long term repercussions to the country.

If Sept 16 does occur, it will not be a surprise if Barisan supporters go to the street to challenge the legitimacy of such government formed on undemocratic means. And all this is because Anwar wants to be Prime Minister,” he added.

Racial extremism, is it what you want?

In the run-up to the Permatang Pauh by-election, Ahmad Ismail had said at a ceramah that the Chinese community were mere "squatters" in the country and thus were not entitled to be given equal rights in Malaysia.

Ahmad, who has refused to apologise for describing the Chinese as squatters in the country while campaigning in the recent Permatang Pauh by-election, claims his speech was taken out of context by the Sin Chew vernacular newspaper, which reported the incident in its Aug 25 edition.

Sin Chew stressed that Tan in her nine years of as a reporter has covered various political conferences and speeches and “no mistakes were ever made” in her writing.

(Sep 8): In an explosive 50-minute press conference, Ahmad vowed that he would not apologise for his remarks which sparked the controversy. The press conference, which was held at the Penang Umno headquarters, ended with shouts of 'Hidup Melayu' from about 50 local party leaders who were there.

Soon after the event, former Penang Umno committee member Zainol Abidin Hashim, with the help from his colleagues pulled down the photo of Gerakan acting president Dr Koh Tsu Koon which adorned one of the walls in the party headquarters. Koh's picture frame, which sat next to the photos of the Penang governor and his wife, was subsequently smashed.

As the glass broke into pieces, Zainol removed Koh's photo from the frame and tore it into half.

Gerakan to discuss pulling out of Barisan in October

IPOH: Perak Gerakan wants the party to pull out of Barisan Nasional in view of the coalition leaders adopting a political culture that garners support only from particular communities. SAPP regrets demonstrations by UiTM students

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) claimed that Umno orchestrated the demonstrations by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) students nationwide over the call by Selangr Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, to open the university to non-Bumiputeras.

Its education bureau chief Datuk Wong Yit Ming said this has tarnished the university's image and would affect the students' future careers.

He hoped the party leaders could be more sensitive towards the feelings of others when making any statement in future.

CM Melaka welcomed Demonstrations in Sabah

"As a Chief Minister and Umno vice president (Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam), it is very sad and regrettable for him to come here to support the demonstration which is not our (Sabahans) culture.

Stop Racism!

TAWAU: Some 20 people here staged a peaceful 10-minute demonstration to protest Tawau MP Datuk Dr Chua Soon Bui’s support of SAPP’s no-confidence move on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

“We urge her to resign immediately! She has betrayed our mandate as voters! Don’t question Malay supremacy!” they shouted in front of the Tawau Umno headquarters at about 9.14am here yesterday.

They demanded that Dr Chua retract her support for the no-confidence motion and apologise to the Prime Minister in Parliament to show her love for the people of Tawau and Sabah in general.

Intimidation and Bullying Tactics

Events in the last 24 hours have taken a disturbing turn. Among others, we have received reports that of intimidating and bullying tactics:
1. Several illegal banners instigating unspecified actions against the Tawau MP Datuk Dr. Chua Soon Bui appeared overnight in Tawau,
2. A demonstration at the office of the Tawau MP will be held on Tuesday, June 24, which was originally to be held after the last Friday prayers.
3. At an UMNO gathering of several hundred in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday, aggressive words touching on racial incitement were used,
4. Short Message Services (sms) and unidentified phone calls implying threats to the two MPs and their aides,

In view of this disturbing turn of events, SAPP has taken extra caution for the safety of the MPs by calling them back to the party HQ in Kota Kinabalu for consultations on the next course of action, including the safety of their persons and families and the security of their offices.

Year 2006 - Denouncement of Keris Brandishing

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President Datuk Yong Teck Lee on Tuesday categorically denounced the offensive manner Education Minister Datuk Hishammuddin Hussein used the keris (during the last UMNO General Assembly), describing it as inappropriate and sending a wrong message to the young Malaysians.
